HVO EMPLOYEES SHOW THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS

21 December 2023

The team at Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) is showing the spirt of Christmas by donating to local charities that are helping people in need in the local community.

Some employees and contractors donated the $100 Christmas vouchers HVO gave them to either Singleton Family Support or Singleton Salvation Army. HVO matched each donation.

Employees also donated a trailer load of non-perishable food items for Singleton St Vincent de Paul to distribute to those in need.

HVO Human Resources Manager Amy Hartman said Christmas is a time for giving.

She said HVO employees recognise that many people in the community are doing it tough this Christmas because of continuing cost of living pressures.

“More people are turning to community support agencies for help,” Ms Hartman said.

“We are grateful for the support we receive from the community and always look to support our community wherever we can,” she said.

“Vinnies, the Salvos, and Singleton Family Support do an amazing job supporting vulnerable people in our community. They deserve our thanks and support.”

The Christmas donations come on top of HVO employee donations to charities through the Workplace Giving Program.

HVO’s community grants program has also this year provided support to 14 local charities and community organisations. Since 2018, HVO has provided more than $400,000 to more than 90 projects that make the community stronger, improve the skills or lives of local people or protect and enhance the environment.

HVO and its employees also donated to a range of other charities and community initiatives including Movember, the Singleton Business Awards, The Great Cattle Dog Muster and the Singleton Art Prize.
For the first time this year, five new mining trucks have been painted in the colours of a local charity. They will receive a donation based on the haulage of the trucks.

“Giving back and supporting community aligns with our values of thinking sharp, digging in and caring.

“From everyone at HVO – Merry Christmas and happy holiday season.”
