A pink-painted loader bucket, a hearty barbecue and a lively raffle brought the Singleton community together to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer support.
Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) teamed up with Morgan Engineering and the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) to rally behind local people affected by breast cancer.
Morgan Engineering staff wore their new pink undershirts, the Singleton Classic Motorcycle Club cooked up a barbecue, and there was plenty of excitement as Louise and Josh from HBCF announced the raffle winners and presented their prizes. The hard-to-miss pink 25T L1850 loader bucket was also on display.
Other local businesses also helped make the day possible, including Robert’s Meats, Bakers Delight, Lacnam Paints, Stuart and Dunn Office Choice and WesTrac.
HVO Environment and Community Officer Nic McLaughlin said the day showed what can be achieved when local organisations get behind a cause.
“Breast cancer touches so many families in our region, so it was great to see everyone come together to support the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation,” Nic said.
“The funds raised will make a real difference, but what stood out was the connections made on the day. That’s what community is all about.”
Conversations were started, new friendships formed and existing relationships strengthened, a reminder of what’s possible when everyone works toward the same goal.
This event’s effort complements HVO’s custom-painted HBCF haul truck, which generates a donation for every load it moves.
The initiative began in 2023, and this year HVO announced a two-year extension to the agreement, taking it through to 2030.
HVO’s involvement continues its commitment to backing local organisations and causes that strengthen the Singleton community. To learn more about HVO’s community initiatives, visit hvo.com.au/community.
