HVO delivers Christmas cheer with nine trolleys of groceries for Vinnies

Nine trolleys of groceries rolled into Vinnies Singleton this week, all thanks to generous donations from Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) employees helping brighten the festive season for local families.

The annual Christmas Giving initiative invited staff to contribute non-perishable food items, placing them under Christmas trees located across the site. The response was enthusiastic, with donations quickly filling trolley after trolley.

The groceries will be used by Vinnies to create hampers for people experiencing hardship, offering both practical support and a little Christmas cheer during what can be a challenging time of year.

In addition to the Vinnies donation, HVO also provided gift vouchers to Singleton Family Support and Salvation Army Singleton, helping these organisations continue their vital work supporting local families.

HVO Environment and Community Officer Nic McLaughlin said the initiative reflected the strong community spirit across the workforce. He noted that staff were eager to contribute again this year after seeing the impact of last year’s hampers.

“These donations make a real difference for people doing it tough over Christmas,” Nic said.

“Our team cares deeply about supporting the community, and it’s great to see everyone come together to help local families.”

Nic added that the simple act of giving food or a voucher can ease pressure for families and help them feel supported at a time when it matters most.

This year’s contribution continues HVO’s commitment to backing grassroots organisations that strengthen the Singleton community. To learn more about HVO’s community initiatives, visit hvo.com.au/community.
