Singleton Community Garden recently received a refresh when volunteers from the Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) Tech Services team rolled up their sleeves.
The crew spent three hours on site removing weeds, spreading fresh mulch and tidying loose ends to improve the green space. They also took photos and notes to help plan follow-up works that will keep the garden thriving.
Practical fixes were the focus: clearer paths, neater garden beds and fresh mulch to hold moisture and reduce weeds. Before-and-after photos prove a few hours can work wonders!
The Singleton Community Garden is a hub for sustainable activities that brings like‑minded people together to connect – everyone’s welcome!
HVO Environment and Community Officer Nic McLaughlin said HVO team members enjoyed working alongside local gardeners and community members, and that the garden already feels more welcoming for visitors.
“The garden is a vital local space; the tidy-up has made it easier for everyone to come together and enjoy it,” Nic said.
This work continues HVO’s support for grassroots projects that strengthen local communities. Discover more about the community initiatives at hvo.com.au/community.
