A recent grant from the HVO Community Grants Program is helping Witmore take the next step in their Inclusive Eats social enterprise, supporting their fundraising to purchase a mobile food truck designed to create more employment opportunities for people with disability in the Singleton region.
Witmore, a not-for-profit organisation with more than 60 years of local service, has long been a leader in inclusive support, life skills development, and community connection. Originally founded by the Witt and Moore families as a school for children with disabilities, Witmore now offers a wide range of programs, including supported employment at the popular Riverside Kiosk.
With the kiosk now operating at staffing capacity, Witmore has launched a fundraising effort to purchase a food truck, expanding their ability to deliver catering services to community events, school activities, and local functions. The truck will allow them to offer even more meaningful work experiences through their Inclusive Eats program.
Earlier this year, a grant from Glencore funded a commercial kitchen upgrade, boosting the organisation’s capacity to prepare meals at scale. The recent contribution from HVO builds on that momentum, bringing the food truck one step closer to reality.

CEO of Witmore, Rachel Baigent, said the support from HVO is helping them think bigger about what’s possible.
“The industry needs to be more creative when it comes to support services,” she said. “These initiatives aren’t just about food — they’re about building confidence, skills, and independence through real, meaningful experiences.”
Witmore is still actively fundraising to make the food truck a reality and is calling on the community and local businesses to help close the gap. Every contribution goes toward creating more supported employment pathways for people with disability in the region.
With 43 dedicated staff, supporting 87 people with a disability, Witmore has deep roots in the Singleton community and continues to lead the way in personalised, inclusive support. Thanks to the backing of supporters like HVO, their reach — and impact — is set to grow even further.
