Local events, junior sport programs, and employment opportunities for people
with disabilities are set to benefit from Hunter Valley Operations’ latest round of
community grants.
Fourteen not-for-profit organisations have received funding to support smaller-scale
initiatives that often struggle to secure backing.
HVO community and environment officer Nic McLaughlin said the grants reflect the
mine’s commitment to building long-term social and economic value in the region.
“Our focus is on supporting initiatives that strengthen community capacity, improve
health and well-being, and enhance skills and the local environment,” Nic said.
Since 2018, HVO has invested more than $500,000 into over 110 community programs
and projects, on top of its support through charity partnerships and workplace giving.
Round 1 2025 HVO Community Grants recipients:
- Singleton Strikers Football Club – SSFC Junior/Youth Coaching Development Programme
- Singleton PCYC – 2025 Book Fair to raise funds for youth activities at the centre
- Zoe’s Place – Grief and loss program for women suffering pregnancy loss
- Network for Educational Work Placements – Young Business Mind Awards
- Singleton RSL Sub Branch – ANZAC Day lunch/events to commemorate WW1 service personnel
- Business Singleton – Singleton Business Awards
- Dyson Family Foundation – Back Pack Pal Program providing lunches for school students in need
- Singleton Library – Parenting teens workshop for parents to gain the tools needed to support their teenagers’ mental health
- Northern Agricultural Association Inc – The main attraction on Saturday night at the Singleton Show
- Rotary Club Singleton – Singleton Art Prize
- MCCI – 2025 Great Cattle Dog Muster Festival
- Singleton Clay Target Club – Purchase of 2 notebook computers to run the clubs electronic scoring screens used for competitive events, and managing all club attendances and administration
- Witmore – Funding 6 employment positions for people with disabilities at Inclusive
- Eats Catering Service
- RFS – Hunter Valley – Improving driver safety and promoting health and hygiene by equipping a prime mover appliance with a dash camera and a portable fridge
