Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) is gearing up for the Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX) at Sydney Showgrounds from September 5-7, 2023.

HVO is an event supporter and will have a stand at the three-day mining expo.

HVO HR Manager Amy Hartmann said people will be able to find out more about HVO and the exciting and rewarding career opportunities it has on offer.

“HVO is a mine like no other where employees are encouraged to unearth opportunities and forge their future,” Amy said.

“We’re looking for people who share our values – think sharp, dig in and care,” she said.

HVO mines some of the world’s highest quality thermal coal as well as semi-soft metallurgical coal for export from two mines near Singleton in the NSW Hunter Valley. With more than 1350 employees and contractors and working with more than 750 suppliers, its direct economic contribution in 2022 was almost $1.5 billion. The mine is also seeking approval to continue mining until 2050.

Amy said as a large mine, jointly owned by Glencore and Yancoal but independently managed, there are plenty of opportunities to grow and develop.

“We are currently looking for people to work in a range of technical and professional roles, but also offer opportunities for apprentices, trainees and a graduates.”

“Our attractive remuneration packages include salary sacrificing options, subsidised health insurance and generous long service and parental leave.”

“We support employees to develop and manage their work life balance with an education assistance program, employee assistance program and a healthy lifestyle program.”

HVO staff are encouraged to support their community. The mine has a charity sponsorship program, workplace giving program and a community grants program.

AIMEX is returning to Sydney after four years and is the ultimate destination for mining professionals to engage and discuss the future of mining in the region. It gives people the opportunity to connect with Australia’s largest face-to-face community of mining stakeholders and gain insights from internationally renowned industry experts.

There will be exhibitors from Australia, Asia, America and parts of Europe who will showcase new products, machinery and technology to help make mines and operations more productive, safer for workers and more friendly to the environment. Best of all, it free to attend.

HVO will be at Stand N135 at AIMEX 2023. Please come and say hello.
