Welcome to Hunter Valley Operations
Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) is an established large-scale open cut operation, using dragline and truck & shovel mining methods. The mine is located at Lemington, about 24km north-west of Singleton in the Upper Hunter Valley, NSW.
HVO operates under two planning approvals; the Hunter River geographically divides HVO North and HVO South, as the mining areas.
The operations are approved to extract 22Mtpa ROM from HVO North and 20 Mtpa ROM from HVO South areas.
Mining operations are integrated, with the ability to move material and associated equipment around HVO as required, including ROM coal, product coal, coal rejects, overburden and water.
Hunter Valley Operations Joint Venture (HVOJV) is a jointly controlled operation through a Joint Venture between Glencore (49%) and Yancoal (51%).
The HVO complex is a Tier 1 asset, regarded as one of the highest quality thermal and semi-soft coking coal mines in the world.
